“Covenant Prayer from Valley of Vision”, Puritan Prayer (Lordship of Jesus Christ, Promise, Blessing)

LORD JESUS,

Grant me the favour of being led by thee,
      under the directions of thy providence
      and thy Word.
Grant me thy blessings with bitter things,
  to brighten and quicken me,
  not to depress and make me lifeless;
Grant me, like Gideon of old, way-tokens,
  by removing things that discourage me;
Grant me succour beneath the shadow
    of thy sympathy when I am tempted.
Accept my unceasing thanks
  that I am not cast off from thy hand
  as a darkened star or a rudderless vessel.
Suffer not my life to extend
    beyond my usefulness;
Cast me not under the feet of
    pride, injustice, riches, worldly greatness,
    selfish oppression of men;
Help me to wait patiently, silently upon thee,
  not to be enraged or speak unadvisedly.
Let thy mercy follow me while I live,
  and give me aid to resign myself to thy will.
Take my heart and hold it in thy hand;
  write upon it reverence to thyself with an
  inscription that time and eternity cannot erase.
To thy grace and the care of thy covenant
  I commit myself, in sickness, and in health,
    for thou hast overcome the world,
    fulfilled the law,
    finished justifying righteousness,
    swallowed up death in victory,
    and taken all power everywhere.
Mark this covenant with thine own blood
    in the court of forgiving mercy;
Attach unto it thy name in which I believe,
    for it is sealed by my unworthy mortal hand.

“Praising, I am Praising, a heart so full” from LWillows

Praising, I am praising, my heart is so full. When life asked me to walk with a heart of faith bolder and stronger than I had fathomed before, I stepped forward. I did not do it alone. I could not. The strength was not my own. Someone near to me said, “You stepped off of the cliff with one foot out!”. Thinking back, I know now that The Lord was holding the foot that stepped out. He had me all the while.

Our Savior is so merciful. I am in awe of the generosity of Grace. My heart is stretched and then stretched again just to receive all that pours in from His Love. Me, the one with so many words- rendered speechless. Just left with a song, left with armfuls of songs in my heart that have been singing to us all from God that calls to us of His Love. We can only sing the praise back with joy and awe.

Hear the Praise!

Wonderful Merciful Savior

“Lord, Turn us to Love”, Ivocation prayer from L.Willows

78bb8113a5a29399bf145dacbdf2d1d4

Lord, turn us to love.
Lead us to respond to the hearts of one another.
Let there be no boundaries or borders that hinder noble calling.
For we are formed together by you.

Help our hearts to know that when suffering burns into one of us,
it leans upon us all.
Teach us to be pressed by Love.
Release the Power of Your Spirit to motion
the courage that can open our hearts to awaken to You,
Help us to walk in Your compassion and behold life and one another
with eyes of tenderness that sweetens to action.

Lord, search our hearts.
Help us to be able and listening so that we hear you above all else.
Give us the humility to bend before you.
Break our pride and the self-reliance that gathers in armies against you.
Bless us with confidence in Your sovereign mercy and Spirit indwelling.
Lead us to You, show us our life in you as one Family.
Grant us the wisdom to regard ourselves as belonging, united and loved.
Turn us to love one another, to bear and enter the hearts of one another
by The Power of Your Son, Christ Jesus,

in Whose Name we pray…

Amen

for He Calls us to Love each as Beloved, Saved, His Own and brought Home.
