“Eternal Safety; Walking with God”, from L.Willows (God’s Spirit, faith, eternal security)

Walking into any kind of new situation is not easy. It challenges us at all ages. Life seems to constantly call us to move into the unfamiliar. It seems as though as soon as I am comfortable, the unexpected happens and there is a great adjustment to make. Afterward when a clearing appears I step in a direction that appears safe and it is filled with new lessons- sometimes old ones. There I am again; facing the challenges of what shakes up and wakes up my heart. Despite uncertainties, each time I receive comfort; each time there is a pathway to peace. I have learned to look to a horizon that is beyond where I am walking. I look to God.

I pray. I ask not to be spontaneous. I pause. Step back. I listen. I know that my knowledge is insufficient; that what I see is not real and I cannot use my feelings as guideposts.

I need to walk in God’s Spirit. I feel His call to prayer. A heart that has been softened by trials is ready to listen to God. Turning from what is unknown and chaotic towards God who is faithful, unfailing, eternal and merciful is a grateful leap!

This is where my heart longs to live. That is where Eternal Safety is,  with God, while we journey in this world – in this life. He is true security. I am reminding of God’s truth and of what is eternal. My heart is transformed.

Scripture, that soaks our hearts in His unfailing security and faithfulness:

Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;  his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Psalm 91: 1-2 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Psalm 4:8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Isaiah 26:3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Psalms 119:90  Your faithfulness endures to all generations;  you have established the earth, and it stands fast.

Psalm 62:2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.

Pray Faith, Pray Safe, we are Yours.

Lord,
We worship You with thanksgiving for Your most high fortress.
We bring our hearts and lives to the altar of Your grace.
We thank You for Your faithfulness throughout the generations.
We give You our hearts for safekeeping in this journey, this life.
Help us to be faithful to You in our daily walk,
Fill us each morning as new in Your Holy Spirit
and keep us forever near to You in Your abiding peace.
Thank You for placing the spirit of gratitude in our hearts,
help us to have hearts that long to serve You and reveal Your Glory.

in Christ’s Name
Amen
