For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
When we allow our hearts to rest in God’s plans for our welfare, then his goodness fills all of the internal and outer crevices with his mercy. We recognize our thirst. Our hearts are thirsty for his living waters each day. When we turn to him and his sovereignty we are aligning ourselves with his decrees for our lives. God has a ‘declaration’ for each of us, a plan for our welfare. This gracious welfare is to live within his mercies. We are the beneficiaries of his generous Love.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
How could weariness come from doing good when this is the action that follows walking in his Spirit. ‘Doing good’ in scripture implies moral excellence, honor and noble actions. These come from a heart that does not grow faint or weak in the face of challenging circumstances. Quite the reverse, they receive nourishment from the Spirit of God. They walk with his Love as a constant and do not grow weary. They walk with Living Hope and do not give up! The ‘proper time’ is keeping in step with God’s will and seeing his Kingdom in reach at all times. Doing good is walking in the ‘now’ with Kingdom honor and perspective because all is harvested in love’s reap with the Eternal. (LW)
Prayer for Beginning Again, Today
Today I face you with my heart,
knowing that you see everything.
I bring all before you.
Take the burdens, take my fears.
Take what is heavy and lies there even unknown to me.
I think that I am capable and free,
but I am a captive of what binds me, Lord
Search me and help me.
Let me begin where your strength is.
Open my heart to the truth that you see.
Be the dawn of new life, of this day, help me see.
Father, lift my sight above all that would take me from you.
Find me Home.
Take this Day. Take these Hours.
Let me see you everywhere.
Oh, that this could be a walk that praises you,
of a day that speaks of your love through me.
Lead me, just one hour at a time, Lord; one word at a time-
I pray to ‘be your good’, Father, this is what I ask.
I am praising, thanking and hoping
for a day that opens to chances for
this heart to reap a harvest of your good.
In Jesus Name,
