We Wake O’ Lord, We Wake

When darkness breaks and Light overtakes,
we wake O’ Lord, we wake.
All stilled to pause, we lean towards
a sunrise bright, t’ is Heaven’s quake.

Oh, hearts be filled in this Dawn’s rise
for comes our King, He hears our cry.
Prayers soul tilled, lives turned, sojourned;
kept, all bound by the promise learned.
We wake O’ Lord, to Love’s forsake.

2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Ephesians 5:8
for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light.
